Fresh water fishing
The large water pools of the Slangriver is ideal for fishing. Here visitors can fish for catfish and tilapia. These pools also contain large quantities of crab.
Visitors are welcome to use floating devices such as canoes, paddle ski’s or tubes on the river. Certain pools are ideal for swimming distances.
Salt water fishing
About 20km away from the campsite you will find the coastal town of Witsand. Here fisherman can enjoy fishing for the elusive big cob (100 pounders) on the Breede River or rock and surf angling in the sea. Bait and fishinggear are available at local shops.
Summer fish include:
Kabeljou, Shad(elf), Belman, Steenbras, Spotted Grunter
Winter fish include:
Galjoen, Wildeperd, Blacktail (kolstert), John Brown
